Trilogy
More than five decades of work come together in Trilogy, a retrospective exhibition by Greek-American visual artist Yannis (Giannis) Nomikos at the Museum of the City of Athens. Curated by archaeologist and art historian Iris Kritikou, the exhibition spans works created from 1975 to 2026, moving between ancient Greece and present-day Athens through three distinct bodies of work. Ancient vase paintings and mythological references meet abstract cityscapes and spontaneous ink sketches capturing the rhythm of everyday life on the streets of the capital, creating a fascinating dialogue between past and present, memory and place. For art lovers, it’s a chance to see Athens and Greek history through the eyes of an artist who has been documenting and reimagining both for more than 50 years.
