This is Athens- City Festival Kicks Off Today

This is Athens – City Festival 2024 is set to kick off today – with over 250 exciting events scheduled to take place throughout every neighbourhood of Athens for the entire month of May.

Beginning with the annual picnic in the park at Plato’s Academy on May 1, the festival includes more than 250 events and activities until June 2.

The map of the 2024 This is Athens – City Festival embraces many of the most recognisable locations in Athens as well as some of the less-explored parks and squares of the city, delivering springtime vibes to all seven city districts.

The dynamic program was designed to encourage Athenians and visitors to explore Athens beyond the Acropolis, get to know public spaces and cultural events with their family and friends, and experience the beauty of the city before the start of summer.

The program includes concerts and street parties, guided walking tours, sporting events for all ages, experiences with food and wine, activities organized by museums and cultural venues, as well as events inspired by the Easter holiday.

“This is Athens – City Festival is the great spring celebration of the City of Athens. With more than 250 events this year – and more dynamic than ever – the third annual festival is expanding for the first time to all the neighborhoods of the city. We invite Athenians and visitors of all ages to take part in this incredible series of events highlighting the modern cultural identity of the city,” announced the Mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas.
